Remember that you can earn extra credit by writing a review of an article or a website. You may write about anything related to topics covered during 3rd quarter (genetics, evolution, species diversity and classification). Just hit "comment" and write your response. You can look at the samples that were written under "Modern Genetics" posting.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Modern Genetics Research
This is where you want to post your "Scientific Literacy" Bonus Report, or read the reports of your classmates.
There are great resources out there to learn about concepts and new discoveries related to modern genetics and biotechnology. Search the websites! Find podcasts!
Some places you might explore are:
http://www.hhmi.org/
www.pbs.org/wnet/dna/
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/
http://www.dnai.org/
www.sciam.com/podcast/
http://www.thenakedscientists.com/
Here is where you want to post your reports. You can "cut and paste" or compose your report here. Be sure to title your report with the topic you have chosen. Just select "Comments."

Why do organisms need nutrients?
We have begun the biochemistry unit, which addresses this question.
Select "comments" and begin to answer this question as instructed. Remember, you want to think of this as an entire group composing a texbook chapter.
Good Luck.

Welcome to Living Environment
If you have not yet visited my website, please access it by going through IHS Library/Science. (Send me an e-mail for an easy bonus point!)
We will be using this site for Class Discussion about Essential Questions. Our first "essential question" is "What makes something living?"
Your job is to answer this question. Just start an answer, then let another student build on your answer. The goal is to create a comprehensive response as a group. After you have read all preceeding posts, add yours with additions or corrections. Try to input two posts for each essential question posted throughout the year.
Remember that this is an academic blog and should be used appropriately
